Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Ram 1500 vehicles. The recall addresses a defect where the flash memory of the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) may become corrupted. This corruption can disable the vehicle's air bags and seat belt pretensioners.
Disabled air bags and seat belt pretensioners increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. The recall began on June 20, 2019.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the ORC or replace it as necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403.
