Burch Tank and Truck is recalling certain 2017 Cargo tank trailers equipped with MPA/MTA suspensions and Meritor EX225 brakes. The recall addresses a defect where the brake caliper bolts on these axles may not be properly torqued.
If the caliper bolts are improperly torqued, the caliper may detach from the mounting flange. This detachment would result in a loss of braking ability, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall began on October 3, 2017.
Burch has notified owners, and fleets will be reimbursed by Meritor to inspect the bolts and replace any that are loose or missing.
