Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2015-2017 VHD trucks. The recall addresses a defect where the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) for the pusher or tag axle may be incorrect on the vehicle's certification label. This issue means the vehicles fail to comply with the certification requirements of 49 CFR Part 567.
If the GAWR information is incorrect, the operator may overload the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall affects 65 vehicles.
Volvo will notify owners and provide a corrected label along with instructions on how to properly affix the new label to their vehicle, free of charge. The recall began on June 15, 2017.
