Fleetwood and Holiday Rambler RVs Recalled for Incorrect Tire Placards

REV Recreation Group is recalling 2017 Fleetwood Bounder and Holiday Rambler Vacationer RVs because Federal Placards list the wrong tire size.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The recall addresses a labeling error that could lead to incorrect tire replacement and increased crash risk, but no injuries or deaths are reported, fitting the criteria for moderate severity.

Plain-English summary

REV Recreation Group is recalling certain 2017 Fleetwood Bounder and Holiday Rambler Vacationer vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with Federal Placards that incorrectly list a tire size of 235/80R 22.5 G when the actual tire size is 255/80R 22.5 G. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

The incorrect labeling creates a safety risk if the vehicle operator replaces the tires based on the information provided on the Federal Placard. Using the incorrect tire size listed on the placard could increase the risk of a crash.

REV will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected label free of charge. The recall began on April 12, 2017. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417. REV's number for this recall is 170317REV. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
