Plain-English summary
Sumitomo Rubber USA, LLC is recalling certain Kelly Armorsteel KDA tires, size 11R22.5 Load Range G, manufactured between December 4, 2016, and December 17, 2016. These tires do not have the tire size, maximum load rate, speed restriction, number of plies, the word "tubeless," and load range information marked on both sidewalls. Consequently, the tires fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other Than Passenger Cars."
The missing markings, specifically the maximum load rate, may lead to the tires being overloaded, which increases the risk of a crash. Sumitomo will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the tires free of charge. The recall began on March 15, 2018.
