Jumping Jack, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 utility trailers in Standard 6'x8' and Mid 6'x12' sizes. These vehicles were manufactured between August 15, 2014, and August 31, 2015. The recall involves approximately 300 units.
The defect involves the torsion arm of the axle assembly, which was manufactured too small for its housing. This sizing error may cause the torsion arm, spindle, and tire and wheel assemblies to detach from the trailer. A separation of the torsion arm can result in a reduction in vehicle stability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners will be notified by Jumping Jack, which will provide a free replacement torsion axle. Owners may perform the repair themselves or seek assistance from Jumping Jack to find a repair shop.
