Lodi Recalls 2013-2016 Dominator Trucks Due to Crane Cover Defect

Lodi is recalling 2013-2016 Dominator trucks with IMT cranes because a valve bank cover may crack and fall off, creating a road hazard.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural component that may detach and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, which fits the criteria for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

Lodi Truck and Equipment is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Dominator I, II, III, IV, and Dominator-Propane trucks manufactured between April 4, 2013, and January 22, 2016. The recall affects vehicles equipped with IMT cranes, specifically models 6000, 7500, 8600, 9500, 10000, 12000, or 14000.

The affected cranes have a valve bank cover that may crack and fall from the crane while the vehicle is being transported. If the cover detaches, it could become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Lodi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the valve bank cover with a thicker cover free of charge. Owners may contact Lodi customer service at 1-916-372-5634 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
