The defect involves a section of framework that may rub against the front passenger-side tire, or cause the mud flap to rub against the tire, resulting in excessive tire wear. Additionally, the issue may restrict steering. Excessive tire wear can lead to tire failure, and restricted steering can affect vehicle control, both of which increase the risk of a crash.

REV will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tube steel skirt framing, remove the diagonal section if present, and install additional screws to secure the mud flap.
