The defect involves inadequate contact between the electrical connector on the compressor and the electrical pins. This issue can cause high electrical resistance, leading to excessive heat at the connection point, which increases the risk of a fire.

Dealers will replace the connector caps and, if there is evidence of heat discoloration, replace the harnesses. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on May 12, 2016.
