This defect allows the windshield to become displaced in the event of a crash, causing the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 212, "Windshield Mounting." If the windshield dislodges during a crash, there is an increased risk of occupant injury.
