Ivolution Sports Inc. is recalling certain IV2 JX-SKY 3/4 open face helmets manufactured between October 16, 2015, and November 12, 2015. The recall affects 1,007 units. These helmets feature a detachable Skull Mohawk portion that was incorrectly affixed with a metal screw instead of a plastic screw. This defect prevents the Mohawk from easily detaching in the event of a crash, causing the helmets to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 218.

If the Mohawk feature does not detach during a crash, the rider could be at an increased risk of neck injury. The recall began on September 13, 2016.

Ivolution will notify owners and provide a full refund for all returned helmets. Owners may contact Ivolution customer service at 1-951-852-6327.
