Kiddy USA is recalling certain World Plus combination forward-facing child restraints, model 51 100 WP, that convert to a high back booster seat. These units were manufactured between July 2, 2012, and October 5, 2013. The recall affects 1,429 units.

The harness buckle/tongue on the affected seats may only partially engage. This defect can give consumers a false impression that the buckle is fully latched when it is not. Consequently, the seats fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 213, "Child Restraint Systems." A partially engaged buckle will not adequately restrain a child in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
