The affected vehicles are equipped with push-out tempered glass windows that may not remain attached to the bus in the event of a crash. This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

The recall affects 1,222 vehicles. In the event of a crash, the affected windows may not be able to retain the bus occupants, increasing their risk of injury. DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will modify the windows to ensure they meet the window retention requirements free of charge. The recall began on February 9, 2016.
