Plain-English summary

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain model year 2017 Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 school buses. The affected vehicles were manufactured between April 30, 2016, and July 29, 2016, and are equipped with a compressed natural gas (CNG) engine. A total of 114 vehicles are included in this recall campaign.

The recall is due to a defect in the fuel system where an internal seal on a filling valve may dislodge during a fast fuel fill. This can allow fuel to leak after the tank has been filled. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of a fire.

DTNA has notified all affected owners, and all vehicles have already been remedied. Therefore, owner notification notices will not be issued for this campaign. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 for more information. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-720. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
