In the event of a tire puncture, the affected vehicles display the incorrect warning message "Low Tyre Pressure-Max speed 50 mph" instead of the correct message "Low Tyre Pressure-Do not proceed." This failure to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 138 may cause drivers to continue driving on a punctured tire, increasing the risk of loss of vehicle control and a crash.
Ferrari will notify owners, and dealers will update the tire pressure monitoring system software to provide the correct reading at no charge. The recall began on July 17, 2015. Owners may contact Ferrari customer service at 1-866-551-2828 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
