Plain-English summary
Jerr-Dan Corporation is recalling certain model year 2010 Standard Duty MPL-NGS, MPL-NG, and MPL40 Wreckers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between August 3, 2010, and September 30, 2010. This recall involves 50 units.
In the affected vehicles, the underlift boom tilt cylinder may drift down while a vehicle is being towed. If this occurs, the vehicle being towed may contact the road surface, which increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
Jerr-Dan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the underlift tilt circuit counterbalance valve free of charge. The recall began on April 24, 2015. Owners may contact Jerr-Dan customer service at 1-800-926-9666 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
