The defect involves improperly secured castellated retaining nuts on the front axle leaf spring rear pin and the steering system. This condition may cause the rear end of the front axle leaf spring to partially disconnect from the front suspension hanger. If this occurs, steering difficulty may result, increasing the risk of a crash.
