In these vehicles, the turn signal indicator may not flash at a double rate or click at a double-rate to notify the driver of a front turn signal malfunction. This failure means the vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, which covers lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

The defect creates a safety risk because the driver may not be aware that a front turn signal is malfunctioning.
