PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2004-2013 Peterbilt 357, 365, 367, 378, 379, 385, 386, 388, and 389 trucks manufactured between April 3, 2003, and October 25, 2013. The affected vehicles are equipped with tri-drive rear axles and a tag or pusher axle. The recall involves 561 vehicles.
The certification labels on these trucks may be missing required information, including the gross axle weight rating for the tag or pusher axle, suitable tire and rim information, and recommended tire pressure information. Without this data, the vehicles do not comply with 49 C.F.R. Part 567, "Certification." This lack of information may result in axles being overloaded, incorrect tires being installed, or tires being improperly inflated, all of which increase the risk of a crash.
