Chalet RV Recalls 2013-2014 Truck Campers and Travel Trailers for Awning Defect

Chalet RV is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 TS116FB, TS116, and DS116RB truck campers, as well as certain model year 2013-2014 Takena 1860, 1865, and 2265 travel trailers. These vehicles were manufactured between February 2013 and May 2013. The recall involves a design change in the Dometic-brand power awning motor assembly that may cause the motor assembly screws to shear unknowingly.
If the motor assembly screws shear, the awning can unfurl unexpectedly while the vehicle is at rest or in transit. This condition increases the risk of personal injury or a vehicle crash. Owners are instructed not to drive their vehicles until repairs can be performed.
Chalet RV will notify owners, and dealers or Dometic staff will replace the affected motors with one of a different design. The recall began on May 3, 2013.
