The recall involves a defect in the power disconnect solenoid, which can fail and terminate the flow of electricity to the ambulance conversion.

When the electrical power is interrupted, the siren, warning lights, and patient compartment lights may not operate. Additionally, there may be a loss of power to life-saving equipment in the patient compartment. In an emergency, the ambulance may not be able to alert other vehicles of its presence, which could slow the trip to the hospital and increase the risk of a crash.
