Plain-English summary
Westmor Industries is recalling certain model year 2003-2013 trailers equipped with Fisher-branded H732 and H832 pressure relief valves. These valves were manufactured by Emerson Process Management Regulatory Technologies, Inc. between January 2003 and January 2013. The recall involves 510 affected vehicles.
The defect involves the stem of the valve potentially breaking, which can cause the valve to separate and be ejected. This failure may result in the release of pressurized gas into the atmosphere. The ejected valve could strike another vehicle, causing personal injury or a crash. Additionally, the release of gas near an ignition source could lead to a vehicle fire.
Westmor will notify owners, and Emerson will replace the valves free of charge. The recall began on May 14, 2013. Customers may contact Westmor at 1-800-992-8981 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
