Carlisle Transportation Products (CTP) is recalling certain Black Rock CrossTrax Series five lug and 6 lug trailer wheels manufactured between October 2011 and July 2013. The defect involves the lips of the affected wheels, which are susceptible to cracking and separation.
If a separation occurs, the trailer tire may rapidly lose air pressure, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall affects 2,287 units. The recall began on February 24, 2014.
CTP will notify purchasers of the affected wheels and offer reimbursement for costs associated with replacing the wheels or will replace the wheels with unaffected ones free of charge.
