The affected vehicles include various Cargo Mate, Rance Aluminum Trailer, Continental Cargo, and Rockport models equipped with Carlisle Toy Hauler series trailer wheels. Approximately 2,200 units are affected by this recall.

The defect involves machine dimensions for the center cap and steel lug inserts that were not controlled to required specifications. As a result, the wheels may not be tightened to the proper torque during the mounting process. If the wheels are not tightened correctly, they could loosen, leading to wheel separation and a potential vehicle crash. A detached wheel also poses a hazard to other road users.
