Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is recalling 3,116 model year 2012-2013 Freightliner 108SD, Business Class M2, Cascadia, and Coronado vehicles. These trucks were manufactured between February 3, 2012, and March 2, 2012, and are equipped with a Haldex quick release valve.
The defect involves the quick release valve cover, which may not be correctly manufactured. This can allow the cover to separate from the valve body. If the cover separates, the front brakes may not function, resulting in increased vehicle stopping distance and an increased risk of a crash.
