Plain-English summary

Automotive Innovations, Inc. (AII) is recalling certain Electronic Gas/Brake (EGB) systems produced from January 1, 2000, through July 11, 2012. These systems were installed as adaptive equipment on motor vehicles. The recall involves 36 affected units.

The defect is that the equipment was produced without an adequate back-up brake diagnostic system. This may allow a driver to operate the vehicle without knowing the back-up brake is malfunctioning. If the primary brake system also fails, braking performance would be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
