Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Sterling L-Line vehicles. The recall applies to trucks configured with car hauler bodies and chassis, equipped with EPA04 MBE4000 engines with a fuel filter mounted at the rear of the engine, and manufactured between September 13, 2004, and October 10, 2007.

The lower and upper low-pressure fuel lines may develop substantial diesel fuel leaks due to cracking or abrasion from contact with other components. A fuel leak onto the roadway could create a slippery surface, potentially resulting in a crash.

Dealers will replace the upper and lower low-pressure fuel lines with more robust lines free of charge. Daimler Trucks began notifying owners in April 2011, and the safety recall began on November 1, 2011.
