Lexus GS and IS Vehicles Recalled for Fuel Pressure Sensor Leak Risk
Toyota is recalling 2006-2009 Lexus IS and 2006-2007 Lexus GS vehicles because a fuel pressure sensor may loosen, causing fuel leaks that could lead to fire.

Toyota Motor North America, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 Lexus IS and model year 2006-2007 Lexus GS vehicles. The recall involves approximately 244,779 vehicles.
The defect is caused by insufficient tightening of the fuel pressure sensor connected to an engine fuel delivery pipe. Over time, the sensor could loosen, allowing fuel to leak past the gasket and through the threaded portion of the sensor. In the presence of an ignition source, this fuel leakage could result in a fire.
Dealers will inspect for fuel leakage from the threaded portion of the fuel pressure sensor. If a leak is not confirmed, they will further tighten the sensor with proper torque. If a leak is confirmed, the gasket will be replaced, and the sensor will be tightened with proper torque. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety recall began on March 7, 2011.
