Keystone Recalls RVs With Norcold Refrigerators Due to Fire Risk
Keystone is recalling certain recreational vehicles and fifth wheel trailers equipped with 1200-series Norcold refrigerators because the safety shut-off mechanism may not prevent a fire.

Keystone RV Company is recalling certain recreational vehicles and fifth wheel trailers equipped with 1200-series Norcold refrigerators. The affected models include the Montana High Country, Montana-Big Sky, Raptor, Fuzion, and Montana, manufactured between 2007 and 2011.
The defect involves the refrigerators' safety features, which include a sensing algorithm or thermal switch designed to shut off power when high temperatures are detected. These devices are intended to prevent potential fires caused by possible hydrogen gas leaks. However, the response times of these safety devices are not sufficient to stop power in time to prevent a fire.
Keystone is working with Norcold to identify and notify affected owners. Owners will be instructed to contact Norcold dealers to receive the remedy free of charge. The recall began on December 10, 2010. Owners may contact Norcold at 1-800-767-9101 or Keystone at 866-425-4369 for more information.
