Plain-English summary
Altec Industries Inc. is recalling certain model year 2006-2007 AT200A and AT235 trucks, model year 2007-2008 AT235P trucks, and model year 2008 AT3X-G trucks built on GM chassis. The recall involves a potential hydraulic hose routing condition in the engine compartment.
The hydraulic hose could contact and cause abrasions to an OEM 12V chassis wire or rub on the steel power steering line. This may lead to damage of the hydraulic line, resulting in a burst hose, damaged wiring, or a fire.
Altec will provide instructions to dealers on how to inspect and install a new bracket free of charge. The safety recall began on September 15, 2010. Owners may contact Altec at 1-877-462-5832 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
