Altec Recalls AP Series Trucks Due to Fire Risk

Altec Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2013-2025 AP45A trucks. The recall involves 884 vehicles where the boom stow switch wire in the cargo storage area may become damaged. This damage can result in a short circuit, causing the wire to overheat.
An overheated wire can ignite flammable material in the cargo area, increasing the risk of fire. Altec will instruct owners to inspect their vehicle. If the wire is not protected, owners can order a kit that includes a bolt-on guard to protect the wires, free of charge.
Letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed on September 11, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. Altec's number for this recall is CSN-3349.
