The defect involves the glue bond joint in the insulating arm link, which may fail over time. Although the connection is secured by eight bolts, the loss of the glue bond can cause the fasteners to fatigue and fail. This could result in the separation of the fiberglass link from the steel inserts, causing the platform on which a service technician stands to fail during use.
