Altec Industries Inc. is recalling certain model year 1998-2008 AT37-G and AT35-G aerial device vehicles built between January 1998 and May 2008. The recall involves approximately 8,600 units.
The defect involves the glue bond joint in the insulating arm link, which may fail over time. Although the connection is secured by eight bolts, the loss of the glue bond can cause the fasteners to fatigue and fail. This could result in the separation of the fiberglass link from the steel inserts, causing the platform on which a service technician stands to fail during use.
