Plain-English summary
Wheego Electric Cars, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2010 Wheego Whip LSV low-speed vehicles manufactured between January 1 and July 31, 2009. The recall involves 308 vehicles.
The reflex reflectors on the side and rear of the vehicle may not have sufficient reflective quality. This defect causes the vehicles to fail to meet the minimum requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 500, "Low-Speed Vehicles." Insufficient exterior reflective light could result in a vehicle crash.
Wheego will send instructions and four compliant reflex reflectors to all dealers and owners free of charge for adhesion to the affected vehicles. The safety recall began on July 21, 2010. Owners may contact Wheego at 1-678-904-4795 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
