Plain-English summary

Oreion Motors LLC is recalling certain model year 2011-2013 Reeper low speed vehicles. The affected vehicles may exceed the maximum permitted speed of 25 mph and are not equipped with red reflectors on the rear of the vehicle. Additionally, the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) was incorrectly listed on the certification label. These issues cause the vehicles to fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 500 and Part 567 certification requirements.

The ungoverned speed, missing rear reflectors, and incorrect GVWR all increase the risk of a crash. Oreion Motors will notify owners and mail them reflectors and new certification labels. Dealers will install a revised speed limiter free of charge. The recall began during October 2013.

Owners may contact Oreion at 1-505-916-1206. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
