The recall was initiated because FDA sampling and analysis revealed the potential for contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. During an FDA inspection, an environmental sample was collected and analyzed by the National Reference Laboratory (NRL). The analysis showed that 37 out of 99 subsamples were positive for L. monocytogenes in both Zone 1 and Zone 2 locations.
The affected product was distributed in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Illinois, Alabama, Minnesota, and Montana.
