Atico International USA Inc. is voluntarily recalling about 18,000 angel candle holders in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall is due to a fire hazard where the angel's head can come into contact with the flame of a candle placed in the holder.

The affected candle holders are about 6 inches high, made of brass-plated mesh, and feature a plastic, multifaceted "crystal" head. The packaging includes the writing "Mesh Candle Holder" and "World Showcase," while the candle holder itself has no writing. Atico has received one report of a candle holder melting, which resulted in minor property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Eckerd Drug Stores nationwide sold these candle holders between August 1998 and January 1999 for about $4. Consumers should stop using these candle holders immediately and return them to any Eckerd store for a refund. For more information, consumers can call Atico at (800) 645-3867.
