The lighters, branded as CiG and Snaploc, do not comply with CPSC safety standards. The non-refillable lighters were imported from Hong Kong and sold for 50 to 75 cents each in display trays of 50. They were distributed through convenience stores and gas stations in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Missouri, New York, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Washington, and Puerto Rico between June and September 1995. The lighters were available in blue, green, pink, purple, and clear colors.

CPSC and Young's Association are not aware of any injuries involving these lighters. Consumers should stop using the lighters immediately, keep them out of the reach of children, and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
