Plain-English summary
Dillon Importing Company, a division of M.G. Novelty Co., Inc., is voluntarily recalling two styles of toy charm necklaces and one stretch bracelet. The products consist of plastic figures or square pieces with charms attached, strung on thin elastic. The necklaces and bracelet were imported from China and sold without packaging in 24 states from August 1992 through July 1993. Approximately 32,000 pieces were distributed through retail chains, discount stores, catalog outlets, toy stores, and other outlets for about $1.00 each.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) tested the jewelry and found that small parts separated when the elastic band broke. This presents a potential choking hazard to young children. Neither CPSC nor Dillon Importing Company is aware of any injuries involving these toys. The recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury.
Consumers are urged to take the toy jewelry away from young children immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Dillon Importing Company toll-free at 1-800-654-3696.
