Plain-English summary

Creative Products, Inc. is voluntarily recalling 4,334 "Lovely Sonny" dolls, model number 1079, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The dolls are 6-1/2 inches tall, made of vinyl with a painted face, blond hair, and moveable limbs. They were dressed in a non-removable one-piece dress and sold in a woven basket with cellophane wrapping and a cardboard header labeled "MADE IN CHINA."

The recall is due to a choking hazard. During CPSC testing, the doll's arms separated from the arm sockets, causing a small piece of plastic from inside the doll to fall out. This presents a potential choking risk for young children. The dolls were sold for $1.00 each from early December through December 31, 1991, at The Bazaar, Inc. in Cicero, IL; One Dollar Shops, Inc. in Branson, MO; and N.B. Wholesale in Houston, TX.

Neither CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving this product. The recall is being conducted to prevent the possibility of injury. Consumers are urged to take the dolls away from young children immediately and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. For more information, consumers may contact Creative Products, Inc. at (708) 673-1900.
