The recall is issued because the device may tip over during operation and fire the charges horizontally, which could result in possible serious injury to persons nearby. While the CPSC is not aware of any incidents involving this specific product, the Commission is aware of one death involving a similar device manufactured by another company that tipped over and allegedly struck a three-year-old in the head.

Since 1990, these devices were sold through approximately 25 wholesalers to retail stores in the southern and midwestern sections of the United States. The device retailed for approximately $29.95.
