Plain-English summary
Tara Toy Corporation is voluntarily recalling approximately 44,000 Sesame Street Push Power action figures, Item #75110. The recalled toys include three models: Big Bird driving a red fire engine, Ernie riding on an airplane, and Cookie Monster sitting on a scooter. These colorful plastic toys were manufactured in China and sold nationwide from June 1991 to January 1992 for approximately $3.99 each.
The recall is being conducted because CPSC testing revealed that the vehicles may break, releasing small pieces of plastic and screws and exposing sharp points and edges. The wheels may also separate. These defects violate the small parts requirements under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act and pose potential choking, laceration, and puncture hazards to young children. Neither CPSC nor the company is aware of any injuries involving these products.
Consumers are urged to take the toys away from young children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price. The toys were distributed by retailers including Boscov's, Toys 'R Us, F.W. Woolworth, and Thrift Drug. Consumers with questions may contact Tara Toy Corporation at (516) 273-8810.
