What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a choking hazard with five reported incidents of choking, which fits the rubric criterion for 'risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported' or significant injury reports that do not meet the threshold for Severe (Class I/II or structural defects).
Plain-English summary
Delta Enterprise Corporation is recalling Delta Luv Pop-Corn Baby Walkers in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the New York State Attorney General's Office. The recall addresses a choking hazard associated with plastic and plastic-coated labels and decals on the walker trays.
The company reports five incidents of choking that occurred when children pulled off the decals from the plastic toy dials and placed them in their mouths. The decals are colorful, round, and measure about 1-1/2 inches in diameter. Approximately 100,000 of these walkers were sold nationwide since 1984.
Consumers are asked to immediately check, pull off, and discard the plastic and plastic-coated labels and decals from their walkers. Specifically, the six colorful round decals on the toy dials should be removed if they can be easily dislodged, and the plastic-coated "Delta Luv" label on the front of the tray should be removed. Labels that are firmly affixed should be checked periodically and removed if they become loose. The paper warning label located under the tray should not be removed.
