The specific toys subject to the recall feature a yellow baby duck illustrated on a blue background; revised products with the same duck figure on a white background are not affected.
The company initiated the recall after receiving 27 complaints that the top layer of the toy's vinyl cover separated from the soft foam squeaker. In three of these cases, consumers reported that children had mouthed the separated cover. The vinyl separation presents a choking hazard.
Consumers who have a "Squeaky Ducky" toy with a blue background around the yellow duck should return the toy to the manufacturer for replacement with a new product. Returns should be sent to the Consumer Relations Manager at Kiddie Products, Inc., One Kiddie Drive, Avon, MA 02322, with the notation "RE: Blue/Duck Recal".
