What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product (choking/ingestion) where injury has not yet been reported, which aligns with the 'High' severity criteria in the rubric.

Plain-English summary

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings toys. These toys are translucent round squishy balls with cartoon faces and glitter-like particles, containing water beads inside. They are sold in a tan plastic container shaped like a bamboo steamer with a removable label reading “SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS” and “SQUEEZE ME.”

The recall is due to serious hazards associated with the water beads inside the toys. If ingested, the water beads can expand, posing deadly risks of ingestion, choking, and intestinal obstruction. These hazards can result in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and a risk of death to a child. No injuries have been reported to date.

Approximately 8,000 units were sold on Amazon by Chenyuanhui (Xiamen Liuhui Electric Technology Co., Ltd., of China). Consumers should stop using the toys immediately and contact Chenyuanhui for a full refund. To receive the refund, consumers must write “RECALLED” in permanent marker on the toy and its container, throw the toy away, and email a photo of the disposed toy to [email protected].
