The paint thinner contains low-viscosity petroleum distillates, which are required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act to be sold in child-resistant packaging. These recalled bottles do not have child-resistant closures. If swallowed by young children, the contents can cause serious injury or death from poisoning. Petroleum distillates can also enter the lungs, causing chemical pneumonia and/or pulmonary damage, which can be fatal.
No injuries have been reported. Consumers should immediately secure the recalled paint thinner out of the sight and reach of children.
