Vornado SRTH Small Room Tower Heaters Recalled for Fire Hazard

Vornado Air, LLC is recalling approximately 255,000 SRTH small room tower heaters sold nationwide. The heaters, which measure about 12.5 inches high by 6 inches in diameter and were sold in black and white from August 2013 through May 2026, have a defect in which the fan blade can detach from the motor shaft.

When the fan blade detaches, the fan can slow or stop, causing the heater to overheat. The overheating can melt the internal parts and enclosure. If the thermal cutoff or fuse does not activate in time, the melted parts can ignite and breach the enclosure, creating a fire hazard.

Vornado has received 32 reports of overheating from fan displacement, including eight reports of fire and one report of smoke inhalation. The heaters were sold nationwide at stores including Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and ACE Hardware, and online at Vornado.com and Amazon.com for between $40 and $50.
