Plain-English summary
Scepter B62 gas and oil combination fuel containers are being recalled. The containers are red with black caps and yellow spouts on each end, with dual chambers holding 6 litres of gasoline on one side and 2.5 litres of oil on the other. "Scepter" and "Gasoline Danger" are embossed on the side and a Fire Marshall stamp appears on the front left.
The containers violate the mandatory safety standards for portable fuel containers because they lack the flame mitigation devices required under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act, posing a deadly risk of flash fire. The Children's Gasoline Burn Prevention Act also requires all closures on portable gasoline containers to be child resistant, and the spout on these products is not, posing a risk of burn and poisoning to children. The CPSC notice states that no injuries or incidents have been reported.
About 1,500 units were sold on Amazon from December 2024 through August 2025 for about $36.
Consumers should immediately stop using the containers, place them out of reach of children and contact Canada Prep and Ship for a full refund, writing "Recalled" on the container and emailing a photo of it in the trash to [email protected].
