Crib mobiles recalled because the remote battery compartment opens without a tool
About 3,000 Youbeien crib mobiles are recalled because the button battery compartment in the remote can be opened without a common household tool, violating the mandatory toy standard.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 3 covers risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported; the notice describes a button battery ingestion hazard with no incidents reported.
Plain-English summary
This recall involves Youbeien-branded crib mobiles with a timing function for music and lights, sold in pink and purple. Each has a plastic arm that attaches to the side of a crib, a music box and four arms with dangling plastic animal characters including a penguin, pig, lion and unicorn. The mobile measures about 17 inches wide by 20 inches high and comes with a remote. About 3,000 were sold on Amazon from May 2024 through April 2025 for about $20.
The toys violate the mandatory standard for toys containing button batteries because the compartment holding the batteries in the remote can be accessed without the use of a common household tool. The CPSC states that if button cell or coin batteries are swallowed, the ingested batteries can cause serious injuries including internal chemical burns and death. No incidents have been reported.
Owners should immediately stop using the toy and contact GKKBSJ for a refund, throwing the product away and sending a photo of the disposed product. Consumers who wish to keep using the mobile can dispose of the remote alone and send a photo to receive an $8 refund; the mobile is fully functional without the remote.
