VIVI is aware of 14 reported battery overheating incidents, including three that resulted in fires. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled batteries were sold online between December 2020 and November 2023 through major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, the official VIVI website, Wish, Sears, Wayfair, and AliExpress. Prices ranged from $365 to $950.
Consumers should immediately stop using e-bikes with the recalled batteries. To receive a free replacement battery and charger, consumers must contact VIVI at 800-375-6103 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET), visit viviebikes.com/pages/recall, or email [email protected]. The old battery must be disposed of at a household hazardous waste collection center. Consumers should contact their local collection center first to confirm it accepts recalled lithium-ion batteries, then follow local disposal instructions and email [email protected] to confirm disposal.
