TADAKAZU Baby Loungers Recalled for Suffocation Fall and Entrapment Hazards
TADAKAZU Baby Loungers violate federal infant sleep product standards, posing risks of suffocation, falls, and entrapment. The CPSC recommends immediate discontinuation and contact with TADAKAZU for refund.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: The source explicitly states that the hazards pose "a risk of serious injury or death" from suffocation, fall, and entrapment—all high-consequence risks. Although no injuries have been reported, the federal standard violations for infant sleep products combined with the explicit injury/death risk language meets the Severe criterion for risk-of-harm products where injury potential is documented.
Plain-English summary
TADAKAZU Baby Loungers, also advertised as "baby nests," are being recalled because they violate federal safety standards for infant sleep products. The loungers have sides that are shorter than required to secure an infant, a sleeping pad that is thicker than allowed (creating a suffocation hazard), and an unenclosed opening at the foot where an infant could fall out or become entrapped. Additionally, the loungers lack a stand, which poses a fall hazard.
No injuries or deaths have been reported. However, these violations create an unsafe sleeping environment and pose a risk of serious injury or death.
The recalled baby loungers were sold exclusively on Amazon between September 2024 and May 2025 for between $12 and $47. About 7,600 units are affected. The loungers are made of cloth cover with foam sleeping pad and padded bumpers, and were sold in multiple colors and patterns including Beige, Pink, Blue, Rabbit, Star, and others.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled loungers and contact TADAKAZU for a full refund. The company requests that consumers remove the sleeping pad, cut up the sides of the lounger and pad, and email a photo of the destroyed lounger to [email protected] to obtain a refund. TADAKAZU and Amazon are contacting all known purchasers directly.
